In the theatre, anything is possible. As an educator and artist, I strive to bring this same sense of play and out-of-the-box thinking into the classroom. I believe that students excel when provided with a positive, safe space where curiosity is cultivated and risk-taking is welcome. It is my responsibility to foster such an environment for students to discover their true artistic selves through problem-solving and personal growth. To strengthen intrapersonal communication and celebrate individuality, I utilize individual assessment and instruction to uncover strengths and potential challenges. Because theatre is a collaborative art form, I incorporate hands-on group activities to reinforce the importance of interpersonal communication skills and teamwork. I understand that not all students will pursue a career in the arts. However, I want to encourage these future members of society to take their artistic appreciation and developed skills out into our rapidly evolving world to enhance their own lives and the lives of others.
